Intermittent Fasting Diet Day 1

Diet:

The first few days of an intermittent fast usually aren't too tough for me. I do need to get to the store to buy some Bronkaid and caffeine, however. I broke the fast today with a protein shake after my workout. I had cooked a batch of Tyson grilled and ready chicken breasts a few days ago, but didn't feel like eating them today. I guess they don't have much of a refridgerator life because after eating 1, I was done. It tasted horrible and I was scared I might get sick. After work, I stopped by the store with my wife and I bought 2lbs of lean ground beef. I didn't realize until I got home that it was 90/10 beef instead of my usual 93/7 or 96/4. This resulted in a fat content higher than I wanted to be, but it's no big deal..there are worse things I could have eaten. After my run, I chugged another protein shake and voila, day 1 complete.

*I forgot to weigh myself and take a pic, so I'll do that tomorrow.

Here is todays diet:

Exercise:

It had been a few weeks since I did a proper workout, so I was pretty motivated to get started. I worked out during my lunch hour and did a circuit that lasted around 20 minutes, but I was wiped out by the time I was done. Here was my routine:

Renegade Row:2 x 15 @ 20lbs

Pitcher Lunges: 2 x 15@ 20lbs

Russian Twist: 2 x 30 w/8lb medicine ball

Curl to Overhead Press: 2 x 15 @ 35lbs

Cross Planks: 2 x 30

Since I'm making an effort to incorporate more running into my training, I started off with a 2.25 miler. Being that I'm in South Texas, I had to wait until it was almost sundown to hit the streets. Even then, it was 98 degrees, but it felt good to sweat.

Good point. I wanted to keep it lower in an effort to keep my protein intake high, while keeping my total calories low, if that makes any sense.

Good to see you back on track. Now, about the 90/10 ground beef:

You don't say you're eating Paleo/Primal at all, but you know, that eating habits are usually related to IF (judging from the bread you ate, I guess you don't LOL). My point is, it's ok to have fat in your diet. That tiny 22 grams of fat are requiered just so your body can make hormones, right?
